Bra Breakdown and Review: Curvy Kate Ellace, 28F & 30E

Hello readers!!  Tonight I’m breaking down my favorite unlined bra to date: Curvy Kate Ellace.  When I first set out on my ABTF journey, Curvy Kate was a relatively new brand known for an enormous size range but very poor scaling throughout that size range.  CK’s bras had wide wires, were shallow, and usually demanded a lot of upper fullness or tall roots.  As a result, the narrow and projected majority of us got the dreaded “Curvy Kate Upside Down 7s” shape.  A couple of seasons ago, Curvy Kate must have listened to customer feedback because they drastically improved the fit of

Bra Review: Gorteks Marilyn, EU 65G

Good afternoon!  I have a review I’m excited to share today.  For those keeping track, I’ve been desperately searching for a beige unlined bra to function as a nude for me during warm summer months.  I’ve searched all the UK brands and both Comexim and Ewa Michalak and not found anything that fits and is functional.  So I decided to branch out and try a brand I could find very little information on.  I found no measurements or reviews for this particular bra so it was a total shot in the dark!  I took a chance… you know… for bra

Bra Review: Claudette Dessous, 28G

Happy weekend lovelies!  Today I’m reviewing another UK bra I’ve found an acceptable fit in.  I’m happy to add it to my unlined bra collection, as summer is approaching and my padded bras will just be too freaking hot for our 100+ degree days and high humidity.  Claudette Dessous is available in a rainbow of colors, and mine is Sandstone and Navy from SS2013.  I’ve been told Claudette changes the fit of this bra about every season.  While I’ve never tried another color to personally speak to this, it’s a bit discouraging because depending on which Dessous you get your

Bra Review: Ewa Michalak SM Summertime, 65FF

Happy Friday lovely readers!  Today I’m reviewing another SM style from Ewa Michalak.  It fits similarly to my SM Kusidelko, with a few notable differences.  Let’s jump right in with some pictures! Look at how pretty and summery it is!  The name is very fitting.  Worth noting:  I got this bra secondhand and the ivory bows that are usually on the straps are missing.  I love the floral embroidery and the colors used.  I was hoping it would function as a nude unlined bra, something my wardrobe is still conspicuously lacking, however the embroidery and pastel colors show through my

Bra Review: Ewa Michalak SM Kusidelko, 65FF

Good morning!  The SM Kusidelko is a very sexy, unlined, nude and black illusion bra that I’ve had my eyes on for quite some time.  I was stalking a listing over at Bratabase for a couple of months, but couldn’t afford it and it finally sold from underneath my feet.  I was so sad.  Eventually I couldn’t help myself anymore and even though it’s a discontinued style, I asked Ewa if she could still make the bra for me in a 65FF.  They had enough fabric around and obliged, so I consider myself pretty lucky to have this baby. SM is

Bra Review: Curvy Kate Jewel 28FF

Switching gears today to my latest unlined acquisition.  I’m a sucker for purple and have long thought this bra was very beautiful, but Curvy Kate and I don’t always get along, shapewise.  Their bras in the past have been quite wide and shallow.  But Jewel is a somewhat newer style for them, and after reading enough reviews and checking measurements on Bratabase I decided she might be worth a shot and Amazon had the last one in a size that may work for me.  So, what’s a girl to do? Try it, of course!!  Ok, so I have my Bardot in

Bra Review: Freya Arabella, 28FF

So I’ve been a little obsessed with the aesthetics of this bra ever since I discovered its existence.  Most Freyas I have tried have given me a pointy shape and the “Freya pucker” at the top of the cup, where the bra seems to ask for some tissue I just don’t have.  But when I came across this beauty on Reddit’s Bra Swap sub, for a very reasonable price, I couldn’t help myself.  It is pre-owned and shows some signs of wear, but still in good shape overall.  Enough rambling, let’s take a look at her. Just…. wow.  This is

Bra Review: Lulu Tout Fleur Rose 30FF

Sunday Funday!  Or that’s what they say, at least.  Today I am preparing for my nursing classes to start tomorrow, and trying to soak up some peace before life becomes crazy-go-nuts.  So pay attention all you super narrow and projected ladies!  This may be a bra for you. IT’S PURPLE!!! I finally have a purple bra!!!! My favorite color. Lulu Tout is a Figleaves house brand, and judging from the lack of reviews or attention I see it get – it seems to be a brand that is overlooked.  I would tell anyone who is narrow rooted, projected, and wants grown-up

Bra Review: Cleo Lily 30FF

I’m switching gears today to show you my favorite unlined bra, the Lily by Cleo, a Panache sub-brand.  Lily has been discontinued but was available in a variety of fun, trendy colors and patterns.  Cleo’s unlined bras – Marcie, Lucy, Lucy’s replacement Kali, and Lily’s replacement Erin – are known for giving incredible lift and a very rounded “apple” shape.  I own Lily in size 30FF.  Let’s check her out in action: Lily is almost a perfect fit on me.  I have a little bit of extra fabric at the top of the cup on my smaller breast, but it’s nothing
