Bra Breakdown and Review: Curvy Kate Ellace, 28F & 30E

Hello readers!!  Tonight I’m breaking down my favorite unlined bra to date: Curvy Kate Ellace.  When I first set out on my ABTF journey, Curvy Kate was a relatively new brand known for an enormous size range but very poor scaling throughout that size range.  CK’s bras had wide wires, were shallow, and usually demanded a lot of upper fullness or tall roots.  As a result, the narrow and projected majority of us got the dreaded “Curvy Kate Upside Down 7s” shape.  A couple of seasons ago, Curvy Kate must have listened to customer feedback because they drastically improved the fit of

Bra Review: Comexim Ginger 3HC, 60HH

Good afternoon lovelies!  Today I’m taking a brief look at another 3 part half cup by Comexim – the Ginger.  Ginger is typically offered as a deep plunge cut which is much too wide and shallow for my shape, so I asked Anna if Comexim could make it as a 3HC.  Since they are so accommodating to customer requests and willing to try about anything, they did and I’m very pleased with the results. Despite sizing down to a 60H in the plunge cut, I am still wearing a 60HH in Comexim’s padded half cups.  Ginger is a bit big

Bra Review: Cleo Piper longline, 30F

Cleo Piper is one of those bras that absolutely stole my heart from the second it was previewed in the AW16 collection.  Cobalt blue?  An unlined longline?  A 4 part cup design?  YES to all, please!!  I told myself as soon as I could find one for sale I was snapping it up and cost wasn’t a problem. So when I got lucky and saw a tweet from Poinsettia Lingerie about how they had a limited stock of Pipers up for grabs, I had my credit card whipped out and the transaction completed in no more than 60 seconds.  I

Bra Review: Ewa Michalak BM Mojito, 65F – my summer heartache.

Good afternoon loyal readers!  Today I’m reviewing one of Ewa Michalak’s newest bras, the Mojito.  The BM cut is an unpadded balconette with a stretch lace upper section, and is well known and loved among many larger busted ladies I’ve met in the industry.  I adore Mojito’s shades-of-teal summer vibe and was instantly enamored with the colorway when Ewa released it in both the BM and S (padded balconette) styles.  BM is different than the other unpadded balconette style, the SM, in that it has slightly deeper cups and the stretch lace section.  I have experience with both the SM

Bra Review: Comexim Annika 3HC, 60HH

Look at me go – 2 reviews in one week ūüôā Comexim Annika is a stunning brown and copper bra you can find right here on Zathiya.  It feels very much like the perfect autumn bra – I can see myself lounging around in Annika and a soft sweater with a mug of hot chocolate.  I’ve had my eyes on Annika ever since it was released as a plunge cut a few months ago, so when Aisha at Zathiya asked if I’d like to review the half cup version of it, I was over the moon excited. I’m totally smitten with the

Bra Review: Comexim Luna, 60HH

As promised, today I am writing about the lovely Luna I was lucky enough to grab secondhand. ¬†Comexim Luna is a long discontinued style,¬†and looks exactly how its name implies. ¬†Luna means “moon,” and this bra is very unique. ¬†The moon print on the fabric is unlike any other bra I’ve ever seen! ¬†It’s topped with an ivory lace trim and small, sweet bows. ¬†It’s become one of my favorite bras, despite its less than perfect fit. From the front, all looks well. ¬†Just look at that amazing moon print!! ¬†Ahhh, I love it. ¬†Seriously. ¬†I also love the ivory

Bra Review: Comexim Victoria Half Cup, 60HH

Look at me go – I changed my background for the next few posts!  I’m winning in life right now.  Today’s review is a lovely new beige-and-navy-lace Comexim design, and mine is a half cup.  Victoria can also be made in a plunge, if you request when you order. Originally I thought Victoria was supposed to be a single-seamed half cup, but mine arrived and is a 2 part cup cut identically to my Sonia.  I ordered Victoria one cup size smaller based on how wide and roomy the Sonia is on me.  This was a good decision.  Victoria is a win

Bra Review: Comexim Sonia half cup, 60J

Some of my fellow bra-fanatics may be aware that my beloved Comexim has come out with 4 new styles for this fall season!  Exciting times ahead!  I instantly fell in love with the navy eyelash lace pattern and the peach-and-gray lace pattern.  Recently, I got my hands on the peach and gray, named Sonia, and it is just as beautiful in person as I expected! Just look at her <3 First of all, the color is fantastic on my naturally warm-toned skin.  The peach is much more subtle than I expected, and incredibly, this bra works as a nude on me.

Bra Review: Comexim Coco half cup 60HH

I’m back today with another Comexim! ¬†Surprised?? ¬†You shouldn’t be. ¬†Today’s lovely lady came via a secondhand purchase from my dear friend over at Brog with a Dog, and her name is Coco. It was supposed to have alterations, but now we aren’t sure it if that request translated properly. ¬†I don’t think it would fit me if it had the alterations that were ordered – straps moved in, reduced cups, etc. ¬†60HH is my Comexim plunge size, and the half cup cut is said¬†to be a little shallower and therefore fit a bit smaller. ¬†But this bra isn’t a

Bra Review: Curvy Kate Bardot 30FF

Hello loyal readers!  I’ve been seriously slacking this past week – to say classwork is dominating my time is an understatement!  So I’m going to try to make up for it today and do 2 reviews. First up is the stunning offering from Curvy Kate’s SS2015 (I think) line named Bardot.  She’s a gorgeous sheer black and purple number and for AW2015 is coming out in black and red.  Bardot is simply sexy, no other way to put it.  Bardot was a huge hit for Curvy Kate and can still be found on Figleaves in both the violet and cranberry colorways.
