Today I have another Comexim half cup to review, and this time it’s the cute and girly Veronique. Veronique is offered on the website as a plunge, but Anna is aware of my half cup obsession lately and made Veronique as a half cup. Interestingly enough, this is a single half cup construction, which is how Victoria is marketed and what I thought I’d be getting with Victoria. It’s probably better that I didn’t, because Veronique – as sweet as she is – doesn’t quite work for me. It’s possible it’s related to the cut, so let’s explore why.
From the front, she looks pretty good. The cups are lower coverage than the 2 seamed design, and I get some amazing cakes on a plate cleavage. The band is true to size, and the color combination is unique. The whole bra has a very “Victoria’s Secret” feel to it, and my fellow Americans will understand what I mean. The polka dots are trendy, and the pop of pink lace keeps it from feeling too childish.
Even from the side profile (which is somewhat blurry, sorry), it looks prety good. The wires are too wide for my root, but only by 0.25″ or so. The uplift and rounded shape is ideal. The cups are projected, but… I’m going to pick them apart for a minute and explain the differences in fit between this half cup and my Sonia and Victoria half cups.
And, there we go. The bottoms of the cups are wrinkling and collapsing. While Veronique is projected, the projection is more at the apex of the bra and not right at the underwire, which is where I need it most. The folding of the bra is a clear indicator that I need more immediate projection than what this bra is offering me.
Here I am marking the bottom underwire of the cup with my right hand and the bottom root of my breast with my left hand. There should be no space or folded material here, but sadly there is.
Also, the corners of this bra’s cups are too tall for me. This has never been a problem for me with Comexim, so I was really surprised to see this. This picture shows you just how short my upper root is.
I would like to conclude this review by stating some very positive aspects of Veronique. The quality of materials and construction is second to none and something Comexim repeatedly does very well. The design really is adorable. And I would also like to point out that I am an extreme case when it comes to my need for immediate projection, and I also have very short roots. This is not a shallow bra, and I would be confident saying that it would work for 85% of people with my size and shape. In fact, it’s not unwearable for me. I am just quite pendulous and have bras that “technically fit” better.
You can find Veronique as a plunge here, and if you email Anna at firstname.lastname@example.org I’m sure she’d be happy to make it in a half cup for you.
Thanks for reading – till next review lovely ladies!
